The H3 HR Advisors 2025 Workplace Trends Report

October 21, 2024

We are excited to announce the release of the H3 HR Advisors 2025 Workplace Trends Report!

This year’s trends report is our most in-depth review and analysis of the most important workplace trends that will dominate HR leader’s and organizations agendas in 2025. From our work with our client partners, the hundreds of podcasts and interviews we conducted this year, and from our travels at events around the world, we have identified the seven critical topics and focus areas for 2025.

Below are the key trends and insights from our report that we believe will be important for Human Resources leaders and their organizations in the upcoming year:

– People Analytics and Data-Driven HR Practices

– Employee Financial Wellbeing

– AI Technology in the Workplace

– Employee Mental Health

– Remote and Hybrid Working

– Employee Caregiving Challenges

– Challenges and Opportunities with Corporate DE&I Programs

While these seven trends are each individually important for HR leaders and for employees in 2025, we believe that they also point to the larger, macro trends and tensions in the workplace. With the explosion of new and powerful HR technologies leveraging Generative AI, advanced machine learning, and embedded People Analytics, the opportunity for HR to evolve into a more quantitative, even scientific function has never been greater and more possible. But at the same time as the technology for assessing, developing, aligning, and deploying people has never been greater, there exists a growing set of challenges in the workplace impacting workers across the board.

From mental health to financial wellbeing to the mounting pressures on organizational DE&I efforts, many workers are struggling – and organizations are having to reckon with these challenges, or else face declining productivity, increased absenteeism, lower retention, and difficulty finding the people needed to meet business objectives.

In 2025, we think the organizations that will be the most successful will be the ones who are able to manage these tensions and apply the kinds of powerful technologies we talk about in the report to make a positive impact on the employee experience, employee wellbeing, work/life considerations, career development and learning, and more.

Next year will be one where HR leaders must find ways to use HR technology to make work better, more human, and more fulfilling for all. We hope that our 2025 Workplace Trends Report can help you frame your thinking and planning as we wind down the year and head into what is next.
